Palettes
A pre-mixed palette is crucial to my process. I used to hate mixing before painting, opting to mix on the palette as I worked. After trying pre-mixing for a while, I realized that it was a more efficient and consistent way to work. I mix a palette that contains plenty of variety, always having a range of values. A mixed palette can last me for a long time, kept in an airtight palette box. I use it until it dries up, but instead of recreating the same colors again, I try a new collection of hues. I tend to grow bored quickly of using the same colors, so I switch things up to keep myself excited.
